Summer is coming and the Wests Tigers 2020 squad will soon be back into training, but who will be in that squad? That's one question we try to answer on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.

We've had some confirmed Wests Tigers news confirmed recently, but not a lot has been going on - Chris Lawrence and Benji Marshall have both re-signed for another season and the club has again made a small profit off the field.

But what of these rumours of guys like Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Matt Moylan, Zac Lomax and Kurt Capewell? Joel and Eddie discuss these rumours and the possiblity that they could be Tigers-bound.

We also take a look at the just released 2020 NRL draw and how the Tigers fared in that.

Download this edition of the podcast for a look back at the 2019 season, including our player scores for each 2019 Wests Tigers first grade player, and we name our best and worst games of the season too.

And we get again into a discussion around the management of the Wests Tigers and the areas that we think could be improved.

Don't miss this BIG edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!

The Wests Tigers Podcast has been on Spring break but we're bigger and better than ever.

In the past few weeks there's been a lot of talk about the Wests Tigers in the media, however not a lot of really concrete conclusions have been recognized.

Enter Justin Pascoe and Michael Maguire giving their side of things on a Q and A hosted on the Wests Tigers website.

We go through the different questions and responses that the Wests Tigers coach and CEO gave on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, including:

The Ryan Matterson Saga
The current situation regarding the Wests Tigers salary cap
The expectation of there being significant NRL player movement in the off-season
The establishment of a Wests Tigers Macarthur region academy
Practice makes perfect - Mimorovski and Masters putting in hard work on goal kicking

We also look at the overall position of the club, the leadership, attitude and confidence that often (or maybe not often enough?) comes across to the outside world.

We talk Campbelltown, developments around the Wests Ashfield and soon to arrive new Wests Tigers Leagues Club(s) and the new Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence too.

Once again we try to answer the question - where are the Wests Tigers going both on and off the field?

Well, it wasn't the end to the season we wanted, the Wests Tigers going out of NRL finals contention with a heavy loss to the Sharks at a packed Leichhardt Oval.

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we look back at the game, where it was won and lost and the bizarre pre-game happenings with Corey Thompson being ruled out and Robbie Farah in.

We also look at the latest Wests Tigers signing news including talk that the club is set to go all out to secure local junior Ryan Papenhuyzen.

There also could be a Super League move on the cards for a couple of current Wests Tigers players too.

And we finish up with a spirited debate about the recent naming of Beau Ryan as a Wests Tigers Life Member.

It's the start of the off season here at the Wests Tigers Podcast!

The Wests Tigers will play the Cronulla Sharks this weekend at Leichhardt Oval and the math is pretty simple - win and you play semi-final football.

On this week's edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we look back at the tremendous win over the Dragons at the SCG on Sunday.

Eddie and Joel look at who were the Tigers best players and which players continue to show strong improvement in 2019 under coach Michael Maguire.

Contract news - should we re-sign Chris Lawrence? Have we missed out on Jessie Ramien? And is Esan Masters really on the lookout for a new opportunity elsewhere?

Then we get onto the big game - possibly the biggest match this decade for the Wests Tigers and give our opinions on whether Robbie Farah should line up for the Tigers.

It's going to be a huge weekend and we have everything crossed the Wests Tigers season stays alive!

August 28, 2019 04:53 AM PDT

The Wests Tigers are still alive in 2019 with the team a chance of making a seemingly unlikely appearance in the finals.

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we look back at the match against the Newcastle Knights and concentrate on some of the really strong individual performances seen in the match by the Tigers.

We have an update on 2020 Wests Tigers recruitment, including rumours Michael Maguire has been dining with a potential target.

We try to answer the question - "is there a place for Chris Lawrence at Wests Tigers in 2020?" and look at the latest developments in the proposed merger between Wests Ashfield and the Balmain Leagues Club.

And check out this edition of the podcast with Joel and Eddie naming their individual Wests Tigers Team of the Decade.

The Wests Tigers caravan rolls on with injuries starting to take their toll on what was already an arguably quite weak roster.

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast Eddie and Joel discuss the Jacob Liddle knee injury and the somewhat frustrating loss to Manly at Brookvale.

Then the attention turns to recruitment with the Tigers linked to some promising outside backs in recent times, including Melbourne Storm centre Curtis Scott.

The boys also talk about some of the young players in the squad such as Tommy Talau and the recruitment of Queensland rookies Jake Simpkin and Reece Hoffman.

There is also discussion around Barry O'Farrell and whether he has been a good choice as Wests Tigers Chairman and look at news that the Wests Tigers have just signed up their 20,000th member.

August 14, 2019 04:48 AM PDT

Well, the Wests Tigers have done it again - losing a match that was not only vital to their semi-final hopes, but also a match they were favoured to win.

What went wrong against the Bulldogs? Joel and Eddie try to get to the bottom of why the Tigers continually seem to fall at important hurdles.

Is it a mental issue? Lack of skill? Or just a realistic sign of where the club and the roster is at.

The boys also talk about the positives from the match, the Luke Garner sin-bin (and subsequent suspension) and the ongoing strong performances from Ryan Matterson.

All and that more on this week's edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast...

August 06, 2019 02:33 PM PDT

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we look back on one of the Wests Tigers best victories on 2019.

After trouncing the Knights, Wests Tigers stepped it up a gear against the Cowboys, putting on a big performance in front of a joyous Leichhardt Oval crowd.

On this edition we look back at the game, where it was won and look at what the Tigers need to do to beat the Bulldogs this weekend.

Joel and Eddie also discuss the re-signing of Jacob Liddle, and the possibility of adding Jessie Ramien and the Gold Coast's AJ Brimson to the team.

There's also discussion around rumours the Wests Tigers are linking up with Fiji to give players from the Pacific Island nation a better pathway to the NRL.

And we take a look at the results of a poll on the Wests Tigers Forum which asked Wests Tigers fans where they want the club to play home matches in the future.

All that and more Wests Tigers discussion on this edition with Joel Helmes and Eddie Otto...

The Wests Tigers Podcast continues to roll on through what is proving to be an interesting year at the joint venture club.

This week, with Joel Helmes back from his Italy trip, the discussion centres around some of the recent developments that have occured at the Wests Tigers.

These include the appointment of a new General Manager of Football and a new recruitment officer too.

Josh Reynolds has been told he's free to look for a new club - the boys look at the likelyhood of that happening.

Should Chris Lawrence retire or move on? How about Robbie Farah? And with the Wests Tigers looking unlikely to play finals football again this year, is it worth giving some rookies a run?

And Joel and Eddie talk Michael Maguire and the big spray he delivered after the loss to the Raiders.
