We thought we'd do something different on the Wests Tigers Podcast this week - a video podcast!

For the first time in Wests Tigers Podcast history you can not only hear us but see us too (good heads for radio? You be the judge).

As the NRL action remains suspended at the moment we thought we'd look back at the past and run through what we believe to be the biggest triumphs and tragedies in Wests Tigers history.

What the club got right and what the club got wrong.

We hope you enjoy this special edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Eddie Otto and Joel Helmes.

March 26, 2020 02:52 PM PDT

This week on the Wests Tigers Podcast we look at these unprecedented times in both our society and the game of Rugby League.

Episode 0062 of the Wests Tigers Podcast though starts with an autopsy of what was an incredibly disappointing Wests Tigers performance against the Newcastle Knights at Leichhardt Oval.

What went wrong? Why didn't the Tigers turn up to play? Where does the team go from here with the season now suspended indefinitely? We try to answer those questions this week.

While across the wider game, we look at which clubs are in danger of folding? Can the game come back this year and if it does, what will the competition look like?

And we announce some new concepts for the Wests Tigers Podcast moving forward without our weekly fix of NRL.

March 19, 2020 02:47 PM PDT

Its strange times both across the World and in NRL land as the Covid-19 dramas continue to have a significant impact.

This weekend we see NRL games played for the first time without fans in attendance and that includes the Wests Tigers clash with Newcastle at Leichhardt Oval.

This week on the Wests Tigers Podcast we take a look ahead at that game, as well as wrapping up the Tigers somewhat clunky win over the Dragons at Wollongong last Sunday evening.

Also on the podcast, we discuss the possibility of a Benji Marshall statue being erected at the new Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence at Concord, good idea? Let us know what you think about this concept on the Wests Tigers Podcast Facebook page.

We also discuss the latest on the Harry Grant swap deal and we take a look back at the round one results from our Wests Tigers Podcast Fan Tipping Competition.

All that and more on this week's edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Eddie Otto and Joel Helmes...

March 11, 2020 02:41 PM PDT

What seems like the longest off-season in NRL history is finally over with the Wests Tigers officially back in action on Sunday evening.

The Tigers travel to Wollongong to take on Paul McGregor's Dragons and we preview that match on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.

Should Corey Thompson have beaten out Adam Doueihi for the fullback role? Is Elijah Taylor the best man to wear the 13 jersey and how will Josh Aloiai go after being chosen as a starting prop alongside Alex Twal? These are just some of the questions we try to answer this week.

We also give our round one NRL tips, remind our listeners about their last chance to get into the Wests Tigers Podcast 2020 NRL Tipping Comp (at least from round one) and play another round of Buy, Sell or Hold.

And Eddie pulls out an interesting trivia question too.

It's another big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast for you.

March 05, 2020 12:19 PM PST

It's the final countdown! The 2020 NRL season is less than a week away and the Wests Tigers are ready to do battle with the Dragons next weekend.

Joel and Eddie also discuss the lingering trade deal between the Wests Tigers and Melbourne involving Paul Momirovski and Harry Grant and look at whether Joey Leilua was justified in describing himself as the best centre in the game.

The majority of Wests Tigers Podcast Facebook followers who recently voted in a poll we're running aren't Wests Tigers 2020 members, we look at why aren't more supporters aren't signing up.

We also look at the overwhelming support shown by our followers for the re-signing of Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire.

And we look back at our 2019 predictions and cast an eye to the future naming our predicted NRL top eight, grand finalists and wooden spooners.

Now that charges have been dropped against Josh Reynolds we look to try and work out how the former Bulldog can make a bigger contribution to our team in 2020.

What about Russell Packer? Medical retirement certainty or potentially a key ingredient in the Wests Tigers pie this year?

Steve Roach reckons Wests Tigers need an enforcer to make the Top Eight in 2020, we look at whether Zane Musgrove could be that man.

And listen in for a round of Buy, Swap and Sell and some Wests Tigers trivia too!

February 17, 2020 03:11 AM PST

The Wests Tigers have finally been back in action at the 2020 NRL Nines tournament and there are trial matches just around the corner too!

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we discuss the performance of the team in Perth and look at just how important, or unimportant the 9s tournament really is.

Eddie and Joel also look at Matt Eisenhuth and try to answer the question - where does he fit into the team in 2020? Discussion about Matt came up on our radar after there was an Instagram post that seemed to allude to him moving on from the club, potentially to rugby union.

We also look at the signing of Adam Doueihi and the clearing Josh Reynolds by the NRL to play in Round One.

Also on the agenda is the possible makeup of the team for Round One, the frustrations around the proposed trade deal with Melbourne Storm and Eddie's slight frustration with CEO Justin Pascoe.

And a reminder to join our 2020 NRL Tipping Competition too!

All that on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.
